1) Take the train from Armstrong to mile 32.3 at Aldridge Creek. Put-in south of the rail line and follow the waterway west and then south to Beagle Lake, Laparde Lake and Aldridge Lake. Continue south to reach the final half of the exciting Kopka River all the way to Bukemiga Lake and Highway 527.
This is an 80km (50 mile) 7 to 8 day trip.
2) To further shorten the trip take the train toShawanabis Causeway (mile 24.4) or Schultz’s Trail, mile 24.7 on the west side of the bridge. Paddle south on Shawanabis Lake, portage to Boulder Lake and follow the route south to Kenakskannis Lake on the Kopka River, continuing through the most exciting part of the Kopka. 47 kms - 4 to 5 days.
3) Or drive or shuttle to Magotte Lake along the Obonga Lake Road from Highway 527. This is even a shorter route to Kenakskannis Lake. 40kms 3/4 days.
